Noon Gardening presentation – Growing Wildflowers in the Home Landscape Dawn Stover, Agronomist at the USDA East Texas Plant Materials Center, will be our guest speaker. She’ll talk about what to do to successfully grow wildflowers and what varieties will work best for our part of the state.

“Mental Health and YOU” Lunch & Learn Speaker: Brittany Raines, RN, BSN Wednesday, August 9th A discussion of coping skills for stress, as well as signs and symptoms of mental health problems. Brittany will distill knowledge and skills gained from 13 years of nursing experience, including 6 years with the Burke Center, into applicable strategies for yourself and those around you. Lunch served at noon. $5 donation requested to cover food costs. Presentation and discussion 12:10-12:45pm. RSVP required by Monday, August 7th.
Cooking Well with Diabetes, a 3-part cooking class for people with diabetes or anyone that prepares food for them. Fridays, August 11th, 18th, & 25th at 10:00 am to noon. $30 per individual or $50 per couple. August 15-16th State 4-H Record book Judging contest. For Those Senior 4-Hers that placed First in their category at district need to have their books upload with correction to Submittable and entered on 4-h online by July 31st.
Aug 15 Pasture Herbicide Update and Fall Planning 2 CEUs. 6:30- 8:30 pm at the Angelina County Extension Office. This will be a general review of new and existing herbicide options for landowners. No fee to attend.
August 21st - 4-H Gold Star Interviews will be held at the CEO starting at 4 pm. Call the CEO to schedule your time slot.
August 28th- County Council Officer Elections and first meeting of the year at the CEO at 5pm
