Texas Department of State Health Services accredited food handlers program is offered at the Angelina County Extension office. A food handlers certificate is required for all food service employees. The class is a basic overview of food safety practices that are necessary to ensure you serve safe food at your establishment, including good personal hygiene, avoiding cross contamination, and limiting time and temperature abuse. Upon successful completion of the class, participants will earn a food handlers certificate that is valid for two years in all of Texas (not just Angelina County). The class is taught in English, but all written materials are available in both English and Spanish.
