Cooking Well with Diabetes Series (3-part series)

Cooking Well with Diabetes is a cooking school designed to help people with diabetes and anyone that prepares food for them.  Cooking Well with Diabetes will be delivered in three morning sessions packed with researched based information on management of type 2 diabetes and delicious diabetes friendly recipes.  Classes will be held October 11, 18, & 25 from 9-11 am.

Topics include:

  • Carbohydrate Foods:  Recognizing carbohydrate in recipes and using sweeteners effectively
  • Making Recipes with Fat Better for You: Healthy fats and fat substitutes
  • Double Pleasure Side Dishes: Reducing sodium and increasing fiber
  • Celebrating Sensibly:  Special event recipes that are healthy and delicious

Following instruction, participants will get hands-on experience cooking a variety a healthy dishes and learn how to incorporate them into their meal plans.

S30 per person or $50 per couple.  There is a limited number of scholarships available on a first-come, first serve basis to cover costs for those needing financial assistance
